Leaf Color Chart
Before Using LCC
Leaf Color Charts (LCC) are used to determine nitrogen fertilizer requirements of rice crop. The LCC has four green strips ranging in color from yellow green to dark green. The greenness of the rice leaf indicates its nitrogen content.
For accurate results, we always recommend using an original Leaf Color Chart.
How to use LCC ?
- Randomly select 10 disease/pest free rice plants from the field.
- Select the youngest and fully expanded leaf from the crop and place the leaf on the LCC and compare the color.
- Note down the LCC value. If leaf color falls between two color values, take average of the values.
- Take average of the readings from 10 rice crops.
